Advice on Submitting Online Job Applications

Tom Bournakas (CQ Search Group) and Sara Bannerman-Maxwell (Trinity Aero Canada) share their advice on how to connect with employers beyond the online job application. It can be difficult to get past the gatekeeper when you are one of hundreds of online job applicants. 

Their advice: Be succinct and follow up with the hiring manager or HR representative. First off, recognize that they are busy people and their time is valuable.  Bring your name and application to their attention. It could be buried in the pile and now they’re holding it in their hand. This may be a good tactic for some employers.
